The founding meeting of the BENELUX DX Club took place on November 5th 1961. A small group of listening amateurs thought it was time to start a radio club for the Benelux region. At the end of 1961 there were 40 members. In the glory years of shortwave the club grew to 1500 members. Interest in radio is fading away these days. At the moment the BENELUX DX Club has about 250 members.
Each year on the first Saturday in November we have our member meeting in the center of The Netherlands. There are monthly regional meetings. Some members organize DX-weekends at noise-free locations.
All kinds of radio listening are represented in the club. We have members specialized in Shortwave, Medium-wave, VHF & UHF (Television) Free Radio, NDB, Utility, Tropical bands, DAB+, QSL’s, etc. There is a growing interest in computer & radio subjects like SDR-radio’s, digital decoding techniques and DSP.
You will find logs and information about all these items in our monthly bulletin and the forum on this site. Since we are a Benelux club a part of our bulletin is in Dutch. The loggings, international items and website are in English. Don’t hesitate to contact our secretary for a free copy of our bulletin.
